SBS-modified asphalt stays flexible. Rubberized modification means the membrane moves with the building instead of cracking at seams and parapets through freeze-thaw cycles.
Two plies, torch-fused. Base sheet plus reinforced cap sheet, heat-welded into one continuous assembly. Redundancy is the whole point of two-ply.

Where the membrane is visible, the cap sheet sets the look. Standard granule finishes run from white and light grey, which reflect summer heat on sun-exposed decks, through mid greys to anthracite, brown and green.

Soprema publishes no finish photography online, so we bring the physical cap samples to your inspection and you pick from the real material, not a screen.

Most residential flat roofs here finish in dark grey or black cap sheet. On walkable decks we typically build a protection layer and pavers or decking above the membrane. Full product details live on soprema.ca ↗.

Torch-on replacement on a typical residential low-slope area usually lands $16 to $26 per square foot depending on insulation, detailing and access. Sundecks with framing work run higher. Fixed-price quote after inspection.

How long does a two-ply torch-on roof last?

Well-detailed Soprema assemblies routinely deliver 25 to 30+ years here. The membrane ages slowly; it is seams and penetrations that decide the service life, which is why detailing quality matters more than brand.

Torch-on vs TPO vs EPDM for a home?

For residential low-slope in coastal BC, SBS torch-on is the default: it tolerates ponding, foot traffic and our temperature swings, and every qualified flat roofer in the region knows how to repair it. Single-ply suits large commercial spans better.

Can you walk on it?

Occasional maintenance access, yes. Regular use needs a protection layer: pavers, decking on pedestals or a walkway pad system over the membrane.

What warranty do I get?

Soprema material warranties up to 20+ years on qualified assemblies, plus our written workmanship warranty. We register the system warranty after completion.
