- Door thresholds too low. Membrane can't turn up under a door that sits below the membrane line, so every rain tests the seal.
- Railing posts screwed through membrane with no boot or blocking detail. Each post is a leak waiting for its first big storm.

Can you re-membrane without rebuilding the whole deck?
Sometimes. If framing, slope and thresholds are sound, membrane replacement alone works. When slope or threshold height is wrong, patching the membrane just resets the same failure clock.
How much does deck waterproofing cost?

What about vinyl deck membranes?
