The metal case.
- Local supply, local engineering. Westform rolls panels in the Lower Mainland, so lead times are short and the coatings are specified for coastal exposure, not a continental average.
- Standing seam is the 50-year answer. Concealed fasteners mean no screw washers to age out. The roof sheds water, snow and moss for decades with near-zero maintenance.
- Exposed-fastener for value. Ag-panel profiles deliver the metal look and performance at a friendlier number on simpler roofs, barns and shops.
- Fire, wind and moss resistance that shingle simply cannot match, which matters under big cedars and on exposed ridges.

Westform standard colours.
The standard PVDF (Kynar-family) palette covers most projects without custom-order lead times. Charcoal and slate grey dominate Fraser Valley residential work.
Custom colours are available on longer lead times, and trim is ordered to match the field panels. Confirm final colour from an actual panel sample at inspection.
How much does a metal roof cost?
Standing seam on a typical single-family home usually lands $30,000 to $55,000; exposed-fastener systems run noticeably less, often $18,000 to $30,000 depending on profile and complexity. Fixed-price quote after inspection.
Standing seam vs exposed fastener: which one?
Standing seam hides its fasteners, so there are no washer gaskets aging in the sun, and it handles thermal movement cleanly. That is the premium, 50-year system. Exposed fastener is honest, proven and much cheaper on simple roofs, accepting a screw-and-washer maintenance check every decade or so.
How does metal handle our rain and wind?
Extremely well. Panels shed water continuously, interlock against wind uplift, and give moss nothing to root in. Under mature cedars, metal is often the lowest-maintenance choice on the board.
Is a metal roof noisy in rain?
With solid decking and proper underlayment, no more than shingle. The barn-roof noise people remember is metal screwed to purlins with no attic below.
What warranty comes with it?
Westform's paint and substrate warranties run 30 to 40 years depending on the system, plus our written workmanship warranty. We register the manufacturer coverage after completion.
